It was more fun than I expected reading everybody's bios. Who could have guessed that we would follow such disparate and amazing paths! I'm afraid mine is one of the more pedestrian lives, but here goes: Married in 1973 to my college sweetheart. Taught (some of your kids)in the Saugus Union School District for 12 years, when my husband's job took us to Torrance. I was lucky enough to stay home to raise my little children there. A few years later, we moved to San Diego and I started substituting. I kept turning down those terrible Special Education assignments, but ended up taking a long-term sub position and found my calling. Returned to school and got my Master's, and am now happily "teaching the hard to teach" at Twin Peaks Middle School in Poway. My husband died suddenly in 2000, and my kids have flown (promising never to contribute grandchildren), so now it's just me, myself and I. Retirement, travel, etc. are a LONG way away--but then I've alway s been a late bloomer! Have fun at the reunion! I'll be there in spirit.
